Bored and Waiting for my class to start

So I'm sitting at my university's library waiting for my IS 436 (System Design) class to start and I'm super bored. I realized I haven't blogged in a while and decided this would be a good time. Obviously I'm back in school for my Spring semester and being a junior is kind of depressing. I only have one more year left to be a college student!
Plus side and amazing news, I got a 4.0 last semester so it really helped me boost my GPA and that's always a good thing. I think this deserved its own paragraph.
I'm still addicted to shows. I hate how Psych switched to Wednesday nights because it's on at like 10 and I NEED SLEEP! But this season is turning out to be hilarious even though I hate Shawn dating whoever it is (I can't remember her name).
Fringe is turning out to be AMAZING. This season has been so awesome. Peter and Olivia are obviously getting closer so I hope they address the relationship issue soon.
Ugh back to school, I'm dumb for enrolling in a class on Monday nights when How I Met Your Mother is on. Complete fail.
Anyways, a pretty pointless blog, but whatever.

More/Less Obsessions + Transformers Wallpapers

I decided it's time for me to update my obsessions. These things come a go for me.
I deleted Jon & Kate Plus 8. Everyone knows all the shit going on with them so I don't need to explain it. I HATE Jon with a passion I cannot describe. He doesn't care about his kids at all. Like most people, I still absolutely love the kids, but I don't watch the show anymore because of Jon and Kate. I'll never forget the good times with them.
I also deleted House because I mean Cameron isn't there anymore so what's the point? House is also sucking real bad and needs to be cancelled. I stopped watching it a long time ago.
I added LADY GAGA because she is the fiercest bitch on the planet. I'm trying to hard to get tickets to her next show in D.C. I just love her because she doesn't care what other people think and she is a REAL performer. People just don't like here because she's different and that's such a sad thing. She is my generation's pop icon.
I also added Parks and Recreation because it's hilarious. Everyone compares it to The Office and I agree it has similarities. The Office hasn't been funny recently, so I took to giving Parks and Recreation (I call it "Parks") a chance. I absolutely love the intern and how it makes fun of the government.
I added Glee. I still have time to remove it. I just love the music on the show. I don't like the drama so far, but the music just makes up for it. I usually don't like these types of shows, but I gave it a chance and ended up liking it.

I Question the Abilities of Parents

So today, I met the rudest girl ever. I can't seem to get over it. I had a perfect day until this girl decided she was going to ruin it.
I was walking back from class to my dorm. I live in the upperclassman dorms and the security is pretty tight. I have to slide my school id to be able to get into the building. So I was heading towards the door to the stairs and I saw this guy coming down so I was like oh I can open it. So I did and stood aside and let him walk through. THEN
this bitch comes from behind me and walks through, cutting in front of me. And she didn't even say thank you. And not only that but I'm not a fucking door man. BUT
this isn't even the worst part. So we're walking up the stairs to the 3rd floor. I'm a few steps behind her. She opens the door from the stairs to the hallway just for herself...
I DON'T UNDERSTAND! How can people be so rude? I'm not going to up and hate everyone and never open the door for other people. But seriously? I get people who don't say thank you when you open the door for them, but I can get over that for some reason.
I question the ability of parents. Who brought this ungrateful girl into this world? I think it's a parent's job to teach their children to be polite. I realize this is a silly thing to be angry about, but it just really bothers me. I don't have to open the door for anyone, but I do because it's the polite thing to do. I'm glad my parents taught me things like this because who would want to live in a world where people slam doors in each other's faces?

Microtrends

You know those people on like TV shows and movies who are like really dorky and they act all nerdy because they always say "did you know...." and then state some random fact and doesn't even belong in the conversation? Well I just realized I'm becoming one of those people. Ugh. I was eating dinner with my family the other day and I said the nerdy, "did you know...." and my family just stared at me amazed that I actually knew something.
I'm reading this really interesting book called Microtrends by Mark J. Penn. It's basically a book about trends happening in the US and how it will shape our society in the future. It really makes you think and be a better observer.
I just read a chapter (well not really a chapter) about Inter-racial marriages and it just made me laugh because it's absolutely true. Penn points out how there is a growing number of interracial marriages and how the percentage of marriages between an Asian woman and white man are increasing. Well I'm Asian and I'm pretty sure all the girls in my family are going to marry a white man; for some reason we just find them more attractive. Plus we are SUPER American-ized.
It's a shame how much racism there still is in the world and it's just terrible. I hope no one gets offended by this post lol; I really don't mean to. I just think that people stress the importance of noticing differences in everyone too much. I mean yes it's important to be your own person and live your life the way you want, but why aren't we also pointing out how people are similar as well? I'm not sure if I know how to explain what I mean...
Anywho, it's a great book and I highly recommend it. It's nice to take a break from fiction novels and such. I'll probably blog about it a lot more as I go through it.
